Kelly M. Blaine

Research Lab Manager

Kelly grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and graduated with her Master of Science degree from Northern Illinois University. She began working at the University of Chicago in 1997, spending her first 5 years in Dr. Jim Miller's lab in MGCB.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, photography, and caring for her two rescued rabbits, Stuart and Walt.

She then worked 19 years for Dr. Anne Sperling in the Department of Medicine, studying asthma, airway inflammation, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She managed the processing of human tissues and the creation of a human cell bank for the lab, and conducted fluorescence microscopy experiments for graduate student projects.
