Calixto received his BS in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2019 where he focused on the role of mural cell recruitment by vascular endothelial cells in the context of vascular regeneration. He received his PhD in molecular engineering at the University of Chicago in 2025.
